A Connection to Our Past
When I photograph a neighborhood I like to explore the local mom-and-pop storefronts because they are the heart and soul of a community.
Storefronts that have survived over time are a link to a neighborhood’s past. These local shops with their unique signage and colorful facades add to the character, fabric and spirit of a community, creating a sense of place.
Here are photographs I have taken of some of my favorite New York City storefronts.
