Highway Route 66

In 2016, I finally made my first trip down Route 66 with two lifelong friends, returning again in the fall of 2019. Meeting people along the way gave us a real sense of community pride in the history they continue to preserve. I photographed small mom-and-pop storefronts, murals, classic gas stations, and glowing neon signs, on the same roads and bridges that have carried travelers for generations. My photobook, Route 66 reflects the evolving meaning of the mother-road and its ongoing impact on American history and identity.
